A 'Play" Day???

The other day Connor and Ethan came for a visit. Luke doesn't get much of a chance to see kids his own age so he was quite fascinated by Connor. I think Connor was quite excited to have someone his size to play with. We did get them to sit for just a mintute so we could get a nice picture.
Connor thought that Luke's head made a nice drum and it was just the right hieght too.
Connor soon found out that his 'drum' didn't really like it and they both toppled over, Connor falling right on top of Luke. As you can see, Luke was not impressed.
Then Ethan tried to cheer him up by running and trying to jump right over Lukes head. Ethan didn't quite make it. I think that was it for Luke's patience and the play day kind of ended.
Then when Luke was feeling a bit better, he came over again and showed us how he learned how to play hide and seek. He loves to play.
And he sits with the blanket or arm rest cover or whatever he has, over his head for a long time.

He's also learning how to walk. Here Uncle Peter and Auntie Mellie are helping him to walk, or should I say run. He's always in such a hurry that his body goes way faster than his feet.

He sure is happy trying though even if he goes too fast.
He also loves to play in the dirt in my plants. If only it would warm up a bit so we could go to the beach and he could play in the sand. I can hardly wait.
He can't figure out what he has in his hand. Oh well, just eat it if nothing else.

Oldies But Goodies

IKnow this picture is a little blurry. It's OLD as dirt. Can you make out who is who? The hair styles and the glasses might confuse you a bit. I know you will all know who this is but who is the woman behind him with the ...ahem....beer.
Look at these two sweet boys. I think by the look on his face, the water might be a bit chilly.
Gotta love those glasses. Notice the....ahem.....smokes she has sitting beside her?
Love that horse! Awwww!! How sweet.

Spring Has Sprung.

I wsa begining to wonder if spring would ever come. I know it's only February but to me it's been a long winter and I am ready for some warmer weather. Last week I noticed something different in the air. You know that smell that tells you winter is finally over. I went to my patio door and looked down and alas, there it was. My first sign that it was true. Spring has sprung. I have a bunch of new grass shoots and a tiny little flower almost ready to open.
I also noticed that a lot of my shrubs had new shoots too so I just had to take a couple of pictures to prove it to all of you and to remind myself that the world doesn't suck too bad after all. Even Save On Foods has fresh tulips and daffodils out by the front door. Oh that made my day!!
But not as much as seeing this cutie patootie. He is now standing all by himself and he's always so proud of himself. We all are too.
This one is just because I love this picture. I love the way he always crosses his feet when he sits. I could just squish that little guy.
Here he is again showing his mommy and me how good he is at standing all by himself. As soon as you help him up, he wants to let go of your hands. He can't take a step yet but he sure loves to just stand there. To think that soon the Beach Hut will be open...YEAH!!! and he'll be running around on the beach this summer instead of just sitting in his car seat. He is going to be so much fun this summer........and yes, now I know for sure that summer is coming soon. Oh the joy!!!!

Home Again

For those of you who know Nadine, this is a picture of her and her new fiance Zack and his son Tyler. For those of you who don't know Nadine, she is the daughter of Ken's cousin Helerine who I was staying with while I was in Florida. I left on Jan 23rd and arrived home on Friday afternoon. I was just leaving Helerine's house when the tornado hit there. I was very fortunate that it hit to the east of us as it was predicted to hit right around the area where we were. We woke at 2:30 am to very heavy winds and lots of thunder and lightening. We had to leave her house for Tampa at about 4 am to get to the airport on time and the farther south we drove the better it got. I left there at 6:45 am with no problems and only heard about the tornado after I got home. All in all, I had a good time away but was very anxious to get home to see my adorable little grandson whom I had missed a lot.
Here he was climbing into my suitcase before I left.
Now that Luke is crawling everywhere, he especially loves to pull all of my books out of the bookshelf.
Here Auntie Mellie turned him into.....Aunt Jamima??
I did visit Universal studios while I was out there and it was very interesting. I don't think it was worth the $83 US that I had to pay but it was okay.
