Fun In The Sun!
This is a gooey duck. You can't really see what it really looks like but it is butt ugly. Even worse. This one is hiding under some seaweed. They pop up like this on the beach everywhere and they are filled with water...somehow. Sooooo...........this is what you do.....
You stomp on them. This picture isn't very clear but if you look close you can see the water shooting up.
Unfortunately, sometimes they get you. It's almost like they have eyes or something.
One of these got me right in the butt.
Some of them don't spray very much...
But some of them will get you right in the face.
As you can see here.....
So that is what I did for the afternoon. It is the greatest passtime....stomping gooey ducks. But there were so many today that now my calf is really sore. Oh well! It's still a lot of fun.

I wanna do that!!!
Those are so so funny.
I love the one with both your feet off the ground.
Thanks again for the snack tonight, it was just what I needed. Other than a heavy blow to the head. This at least allowed me to keep working.
These are great pictures! I love the one where both of your feet are off the ground. I will never get tired of stomping gooey ducks. I'm going to go check the tide charts for today. That might even influence what time we meet at the Beach Hut for coffee.
OK. I checked the tide charts. 12:23 pm the tide is at 1.2 meters. It will be well on it's way out, though, by 10:30 am. We can still stomp gooey ducks.
I said the tide was at 1.2 meters. Correction. The tide is at 0.2 meters.
I love this pictures. And I love stomping gooey ducks, too. I also love catching minnows. I just love the beach.
Those sure are great pictures, that does look like fun. So are those alive creatures? or just what are gooey ducks? Sorry for my lack of knowledge. Thanks for posting !
Yes they are alive. They look like giant worms that live in big clam shells. They stretch themselves out of their shells and stick their ugly, shall we call them faces?, out of the sand to breath. When you stomp on them or next to them, they shrink back into their shells and shoot out a stream of salt water. sometimes it shoots an inch and as you can see in Mitz's pictures, sometimes they shoot up to five or six feet. They are so much fun.
I remember doing that when we were there on holiday. What a blast. My legs got so stiff and sore but I just couldn't stop. I need to come again and spend a day on the beach. The beach hut for a coffee, what a life you people live.
Those are great pics Mitz.
Great pictures. If you go to my facebook page, and then into my photo albums, and then under Miscellaneous I have a picture of one of them after we dug it out. Gooey Duck
I can't believe you guys dug one out. I think they are the ugliest thing but man they make the beach so much more fun.
They were all broken when we visited. Actually, I think maybe you guys are all lying and doctoring your photos and those things don't do anything more than lay under the sand.
Becky, when was the last time you were here? Maybe it was the wrong time of year. You have to come in summer. They are everywhere. Honest! I wouldn't lie.
